![]() Even the vocals for the most part resemble a much gruffer version of Maynard Keenan. ![]() Just listen to "The Spell is Cast" and one can hear guitar lines straight from Tool's albums. The guitars have that same very quiet, psychedelic string picking to them that is heard on such hit albums like Lateralus and Aenima. The very first things listeners will notice is the Tool influence. ![]() But, with such a complex album comes the heavy price of a dedicated ear to really enjoy what comes out of Black Days. There are so many influences in Klone: Tool, Mastodon, Alice in Chains, Pantera, Opeth. With their second full length album, Black Days, the band continues to expand on their focus on experimentation in a way to vary their songs so much with little nuances that it's nothing less but a joy to listen to. Klone is a band from France who have become what appears to be one of the 'great postmodernists' of the rock and metal genre.
